The 36th General Assembly of the Federation African Medical Students’ Associations is fast approaching and we hope you are just as excited as we are.

Below are the details for the FAMSA GA 2022:
Date: 17th-20th December, 2022
Venue: Levy Mwanawasa Medical University, Lusaka, Zambia.
Theme: Integrating Research to Enhance Medical Education in Africa

Registration Fees
Local Medical Students – 30USD
International Medical Students – 50USD
Day Pass – 15USD
Virtual – 25USD

Accommodation Fees
3 Star Hotel
Single Occupancy – $75 per night
Double Occupancy – $90 per night ($45 for each person)
Basic Accommodation
$15 per person for each night
Double Occupancy – $30 per night ($15 for each person)

The Federation of African Medical Students’ Associations (FAMSA) calls on member MSAs to BID for the rights to host either the 37th
OR the 38th General Assembly and Scientific Conference which will hold next year (2023) and the year after (2024) respectively.

Application requirements
The following should be sent as email attachments to famsaarchives@gmail.com :

1. A Letter of Application duly signed by the MSA president and endorsed by the Dean of the Faculty 2.A Concept note 3.Proof of payment of FAMSA membership dues (contact treasurer@famsanet.org to pay your dues )

The HIV epidemic continues to profoundly impact several African countries, claiming a significant number of lives, pushing more people into poverty, and disrupting economies. Amidst all these, however, one thing remains – staying informed is the surest first step to combating the contagion.

This is a call for application  to join this competition and represent your various MSA.

Prizes to be won:

  1. First position – 150 USD
  2. Second position – 100 USD
  3. Third position – 50 USD

Requirements:

  1. Only 4 members of the same MSA can form a quiz team.
  2. Each team MUST submit letter of intro from the MSA president or secretary confirming their representation of the MSA.
  3. ONLY one team per MSA is eligible.

These courses will cover diverse topics in medical education and research and can be taken from any location through internet-accessible devices. Members of FAMSA and Alumni are entitled to register on the platform free of charge and earn certificates upon successful completion of certain course modules.

The Federation of African Medical Students’ Associations (FAMSA) is pleased to inform you of her partnership with BlueCloud. BlueCloud is an electronic system for the education of healthcare professionals through carefully curated courses. These courses will cover diverse topics in medical education and research and can be taken from any location through internet-accessible devices.

One of our Aims/Objectives is “to enhance and broaden the general and special education of member medical students” Hence, the partnership with BlueCloud is one such way to facilitate this goal. The FAMSA President, Yankuba Jabbie in his communication with Bluecloud re-emphasized this goal stating our vision, structure, activities and how the partnership would benefit both medical students and the Alumni Network in developing their capacities in Medical Education and Research and also for Professional Development.
