According to the National HIV and AIDS Workplace Policy in Nigeria, you are NOT mandated by your employer to undergo HIV testing🚫. This is to prevent the discrimination of PLHIV in the workplace.

Health Policies play a crucial role in addressing the HIV epidemic. They guide the implementation of prevention, treatment, and support programs, among other areas.

The FAMSA HIV/AIDS TWG organized a Policy Writing Workshop on HIV/AIDS to empower medical students with the basic knowledge of health policies and their roles as change agents. We asked a few students what they gained from the programme, click here to read what they said:

Greetings Afro Medics,
The Federation of African Medical Students’ Associations extends a warm invitation to all Member Medical Student Associations to fulfill their obligation for the annual FAMSA subscription of 2023.


New MSAs that aspire to officially join FAMSA are also encouraged to apply.(Guidelines included).
FAMSA dues for this term are $30 USD

This fee is payable by each individual MSA.

World Pre-Health Conference (WPC) is an educational conference for undergraduate and medical school students with the mission of demystifying the pre-health experience and uniting students from across the world.

Last year, WPC was attended by 2000+ students from 150+ schools across 50+ countries, and we would love for you to apply this year’s conference.

WPC 2023 will focus on themes of medical research, arts & medicine, digital health, community service, health equity, and bioethics with a variety of keynote speakers, workshops, career fairs, and mentorship/networking opportunities.

We will be joined by Eric Rubin, editor-in-chief of the New England Journal of Medicine; Francis Collins, Science Advisor to the President of the United States and Director of the National Institutes of Health; Gail Christopher, Executive Director of the National Collaborative for Health Equity; and Thomas Peng, CEO of the Peace Corps.
