Victor Femi-Lawal, a fourth-year medical student at the University of Ibadan, is a young leader, global health researcher, and project coordinator with a significant passion for advancing healthcare outcomes in his community and Africa. He is proficient in research, project management, health policy and communication, and community impact initiatives. He has several years of experience leading and volunteering in various non-profit and social impact initiatives. He has worked on various projects in collaboration with leading international organizations such as the WHO, Africa CDC, Costello Medical, and others. He is a Project Editor at Polygeia Cambridge and a Research Fellow at the Association of Future African Cardiothoracic Surgeons (AFAC). He is also a medical education fellow at Osmosis from Elsevier. Nneka Amakom is a Fifth year Medical Student in the University of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. She currently serves as the Headquarters Board Administrator. She has served in various capacities in FAMSA, as a Programmes and Design Officer in SCOHE in the 2020/2021 tenure and as a board member for two consecutive tenures, 2021/2022 and 2022/2023. During this time, her commitment to FAMSA and its motto “Towards the Improvement of Healthcare in Africa” has been reinforced and has also guided her in other activities.
She is a research and innovation enthusiast with interest in Genetics, Oncology, Neuroscience and Public health. She is also a leader and a cordwainer. She is a Millennium Fellowship alumnus and a Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) alumnus. She is also a founding member of the Brighter Futures Nigeria platform through which she fosters safe, regular and dignified migration using awareness creation and skills acquisition.

Hello, I’m Boluwatife Durojaiye, currently in my fourth year of medicine and surgery at the University of Ilorin. I have actively contributed to improving healthcare accessibility in underprivileged areas, particularly through my engagement with FAMSA. I am Jane Merinyo, a 5th-year medical student at Kenyatta University under the Association of Kenyatta University Medical Students (AKUMS), where I am the current Secretary General. I have had the privilege to previously serve in FAMSA as the SCOPE’s Finance Officer (2023), various FAMSEP virtual exchanges’ Liaison Officers (2022, 2023), and SCOHE World Kidney Day Project SWG’s Logistics Coordinator (2022). I am humbled to be the current FAMSA East Africa Regional Coordinator (2024) as it provides the opportunity to unite and provide holistic growth to the medical students in East Africa. I am passionate about leadership, global health, surgery, and community engagement.
Above all, I aspire to promote universal health coverage in the healthcare sector.
